Preoccupied

I haven’t posted anything in almost two weeks because I have been completely preoccupied with my classroom. So I haven’t been idle! If you want to see my classroom blog &  what I’ve been doing for the past two weeks click on this link --> http://www.serendipitiesin2nd.blogspot.com/.

Jonathan and I have been hanging out, and doing some cooking and making some goodies the past week. By request, I made some of my StepMom’s banana pudding. DELISH!

We devoured that whole bowl in a bout a week. Winking smile

We also had a little visitor on our tomato plant. Well I say little, but he was a BIGGIN’!! Jonathan named him Bourgeoisie, but his nickname is Bou.

Next week, I’m going to visit my parents for a few days and Jonathan will be at FFA Camp, so I will be MIA again.

The week after, we both start back to school. Jonathan goes back on the 10th and classes start on the 17th. I go back on the 11th, “Meet the Teacher” is the 16th, and school starts on the 18th. Our summer is coming to an end…

Oh Hobby Lobby!

So I’ve been trying to be more crafty and do those creative things that make a house special… So where other than to carry out this mission than Hobby Lobby. (Hobby Lobby is like an A.C. More.) Well, after an hour and 15 minutes in the store, I closed the place down and spent A LOT more money than I intended… But all totally worth it!

My first project was an awesome idea in which to hang earrings… Voila!

I haven’t gotten to the other projects quite yet, but it involves painting!! YAY! Something I haven’t done since I took Art at Clemson.

But I did find this great “plaque” I had to get for my kitchen….

Alright, its late, and this lil homemaker is getting up early to accompany her friend Hannah during her bridal portraits. But before I lay my head down, I wanna say that I hope my family starts reading this blog because strangely, it makes me feel closer to them even though we’re a state away.

And the yellow jackets sting harder…

The past week Jonathan has been building a fence with his step-dad, Richard. Well, aside from the poison oak, chiggers, scraps and scratches, Jonathan got into some yellow jackets. If you’re like me, you probably wouldn’t know a yellow jacket from a bumble bee. Well, you’re in luck! Click on the picture of the yellow jacket below and you’ll get your Wikipedia fill of the North American common yellow jacket. ;)

The whole point of me sharing this is to show how gnarly and swollen Jonathan’s stings were. (They’ve gotten better! Still swollen and red, but better!)

Poor thing! Well with some anti-itch ointment and a double dose of Benadryl, the stings are finally going down.

On a less painful and more craftier note, look what I did today!…

Kristen, your mission, if you chose to accept it:

Make this house a home! Jonathan and I will have lived in our house for ONE YEAR this September… And I have finally accepted the exciting and exhausting job of making this house a HOME! I started this blog to help “document” the little and larger things we will start doing to the house… We’ve got BIG plans, people! Big plans!

This week, I’ve started making crafty/decorative things, hanging pictures (thanks to my StepMonster Belva), and reaping the benefits of Jonathan and our neighbor (Joe)’s garden.

Here’s what I did this week thus far:
